About
Wine Jargon was created to share my love for wine – experiences, events, tastings, pairings, tips, purchases and travels – and hopefully inspire others to drink and collect more of it.
Bio
My mother introduced me to good wine. As a child, growing up in Newfoundland, my Irish/Scottish/British mother fancied herself French and/or Italian, depending on the meal (she is also a fantastic cook) and the book she was reading. She had a vision for wine cellaring before it became a bit of a trend, collecting some amazing vintages from Bordeaux to Barolo in the 1980′s. To say I remember “that wine” that tipped the scales on some a-ha wine moment would be forced: I was likely 10. But I know it was good.
I started my own “cellar” (read: tacky wine rack above hot refrigerator) in university, and began to purchase a few select special wines every place I traveled with a wine region attached to it, from Napa to Burgundy. Most of those wines have since been consumed, most before their prime, when I was before my “prime”.
I have my WSET Level 3 Advanced Certification and am happy to report that I have graduated to the ‘real-deal’ cellar, growing it by the week.
I have my own business as a social web strategist.
